Managing change – leading innovation
A race against cancer
Herve Bosquet

This month, Hervé Bosquet (Senior Advisor Global Association Hubs Partnership) talks about leadership, and how managers should act in turbulent times. Lots of people will hang on to business-as-usual, and will initially resist change.

Real leaders will anticipate this change, deal with ambiguity, inspire others and influence outcomes. What does it take to be a true leader? And are these talents the same as those associated with being an effective manager?

Click here to read Herve’s report.

Ghent light

From 31 January to 4 February, Ghent will be visible from the International Space Station. Not because someone will set it on fire, but because its beautiful light festival will turn the city in a true spectacle every evening: light art, installations, videomapping; you name it.

Exquisite garden parties

Jardin d’Amis is a beautiful garden in Ghent that can be rented and decorated for all sorts of tailor-made parties and events. The space can accommodate 40 to 150 people. 50 of them can sit in the nicely furbished greenhouse, and when the weather is bad, large tents can be provided.

A spacious terrace, an outside bar, decorative lighting and fire pits are all available. Catering is provided by the venue itself. Jardin d’Amis is part of Alix. You can get a fresh and local lunch here every weekday from 12 to 2 pm.

event location

The location is obviously one of the most important factors of a successful event, but how to select the right one? You can’t know everything obviously, so you might need some help.

Both www.salino.be and www.dnls.be are platforms that list all available event locations in the country in a very intuitive format.

Both divide their locations into different categories, so you can find the perfect venue for every event without losing any time.
