Summer of Contemporary Art in Brussels
Contemporary art, is a main ingredient of the Brussels Cultural scene. This Summer particularly, art lovers can go on a great discovery trip in the Capital.
It starts at Bozar where Sophie Calle exhibits from 27.05 till 13.09. Prenez soin de vous is Sophie Calle’s first exhibition at the Centre for Fine Arts, where she presents a collection of her works - in particular those in which she herself appears in a truly autobiographic ritual.

The Brussels Summer Festival (14 – 23 August) has in a few years turned into the most important cultural event in August in Brussels.

Vendanges @ Brussels Louise
In Paris the “Vendanges” is THE society event of the year, on September 10 Brussels Louise organizes its own first “Vendanges”event. The principle is simple: the luxury boutiques of the Louise area animate their area with lots of champagne and special treats, all donations and proceeds will be given to a charitable foundation. The Association of Luxury shops in the Louise area, Brussels Louise, are confident that this event will not only become an important society event, but will provide a much needed boost for the economy. Brussels & Comic Strips, it’s a match made in heaven. 2009 is the Comic Strips Year and one of the many activities definitely worth the detour is “SEXTIES - Crepax/Cuvelier/Forest/Peellaert” @ Bozar (25.09.2009 – 03.01.2010)
This exhibition highlights the work of four authors who have been instrumental in the development of the comic strip by expanding the art form beyond the realm of children. www.bozar.be

Square, where Meetings become Experiences!
20.09.2009 at 20:09 is nearly upon us, the long awaited official inauguration of the SQUARE-BRUSSELS MEETING CENTRE! It will also be the day to discover the 2 beautiful creations by the international design talent from Belgium: Arne Quinze. Both spaces will be open to the general public: a brasserie with open air terrace in the loveliest park of the city centre as well as a panoramic event hall with a breath-taking panorama of the capital. It will be Quinze’s first permanent creation in Brussels.

Biennale Art Nouveau
Brussels is definitely the capital of Art Nouveau which is why the “Biennale Art Nouveau” in October, now on its 5th edition, is an event cherished by the connoisseurs! For the first time there will be also fine examples of Art Deco included in these unique tours. Every weekend of October mansions, private houses, schools and shops, all fine examples of this popular art form, will be opened to visitors for guided tours. Tours can be booked in advance; some of the tours are also available in English.
