SQUARE (opening 20.09.09)
After years of intensive remodeling and enlargement work, the Brussels meeting centre re-opens its doors and as of September 20th will welcome its first guest under the new identity: SQUARE!
SQUARE sits at the very heart of the ‘hot’ section of town called Mont des Arts at the very source of the Brussels cultural life. But its proximity to the Central Station and the European and International institutions make it an ideal location for the organisation of meetings & conventions.
It offers 13 500 m² of modular space, 4 large auditoria (1200, 500, 300 and 150 seats), 3 670 m² of exhibition space, 21 meeting & breakout rooms and a Panoramic Hall, a spectacular ‘airy’ space that has taken over the entire top floor (580 m²), by the famous Belgian architect & designer Arne Quinze. Arne Quinze is also the creator of the brasserie Kwint with large terrace overlooking the gardens of the Albertina. The original mural paintings by Belgian masters Magritte and Delvaux have been carefully restored and take place of pride in the new building.
The grand opening party – open to all! -on September 20th at 20hrs09 on the Mont des Arts promises to be one of the major events of the year in Brussels and a long list of artists and performers will delight young and old, just make sure to be on time to get a good spot from where to enjoy the spectacle!
