BRAVO!
Magritte 100.000th visitor!!
On August 9 2009 around 11 am, the Musée Magritte Museum welcomed its 100.000th visitor, a clear symbol of the enormous success the museum has known since its opening on June 2nd of this year. The Laurensberge Family from France were welcomed by Michel Draguet, Director of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts, and Charly Herscovici, President of the Magritte Foundation, and given a personal tour of the exhibits.
Looking back on the last months, everything started in the month of May when the Belgian press followed by the Royal couple and a great number of VIP invitees started off a series of opening events.
Magritte has now reached 100% of its capacity and in order to make the visit an enjoyable experience and for reasons of security the number of visitors has now been capped at 400 visitors per hour. Weekends are already full for the foreseeable future!
