“The India Calling 2009 – India-Europe: Business Partnership Summit was held in Brussels from 30th September – 3rd October 2009. The conference was organised to provide a platform for business people from India and Europe to interact and explore opportunities to forge new ventures in various emerging sectors as well as strengthen existing partnerships.


The conference was attended by over 130 delegates from India and 180 from Belgium and other European Union countries. The delegates were addressed by important industrialists, civil servants and politicians. To name a few, Mr Vayalar Ravi, Honorable Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, Government of India, Mr Yves Leterme, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Belgium, Mr Vincent Van Quickenborne, Minister for Economic Affairs and H.E. Cathy Berx, Governor of Antwerp. HRH Prince Philippe of Belgium kindly graced the cocktail dinner hosted by Flanders Investment & Trade.

The Hilton Brussels was the venue for the conference. The hotel staff and management left no stone unturned to make the delegates comfortable and ensured the entire event was a great success. Georgine Guelton from the Brussels Convention Bureau gave valuable assistance in finalising a DMC for the event. The transportation arrangements were handled professionally and efficiently by Ovation Belgium in conjunction with JetAirways. Brussels is without a doubt a great city for conferences!”
