Snow, ice, glaciers, more ice... if that is what tickles your fancy, the hotel Arctic is your thing! In one of the most spectacular towns (Ilulissat) in one of the most unusual countries (Greenland), one can find the Hotel Arctic.

There are the five metal igloos, the calling card of the 87-room hotel. Outside, the igloos are Futuristic Eskimo. Inside, they are nautical, modeled on space-efficient boat interiors. The bathroom is straight from a yacht - close the door and the toilet becomes a shower, a table isn't unlike what you would find in a galley, and the windows are elongated portholes.

With the opening of Hotel Arctic's new conference centre, they are now also able to provide top-class rooms, decor, room climate and AV facilities for 120 delegates. Discover more about this ice-sensation on

Ghent’s newest event location:
de Oude Vismijn
Agenda issues!!
Avoid clashing with other events!!!
Oude Vismijn

Earlier this month Ghent proudly opened its newest restaurant and events venue right in the heart of the city: de Oude Vismijn.   A beautiful example of how old historical buildings can be renovated in a very contemporary style without loosing its authentic aura.

Managed by the same successful team who in Ghent already run the Pakhuis, Bord’eau the sober but impressive brasserie restaurant will certainly become a ‘must’ address in Ghent. The ‘Markt’ eventhall with its suspended kitchen brings to the city a most welcome venue for up to 400 people.
The camera that shows the way

The newest Casio camera, the Exilim-H20G, not only has a capacity of 1000 pictures without having to re-load, but also has a build in Hybrid GPS system. Not only can it show you the way, but it will also tell you about things to see, things to do in the region where you are travelling. In other words, this camera is the perfect travel companion that will make your next holiday or citytrip all that more enjoyable! This super camera will be available in time for the end of year period.. the perfect gift for under the Christmas tree!

Agenda issues!! Avoid clashing with other events!!!

Thursday October 28th was a busy day and as a travel manager or event organizer you could be forgiven for being in two minds as to what to do that day. Not only did BATM organize their annual Travel Manager Award, but ATOUT France and the Malta Tourism Authority also had an event planned for that day.

Now, let’s face it, the Belgian Market is not that big that we need such a choice of events. Everybody is struggling with budgets and therefore it is frankly stupid to have more than one event on the same date! Every organizer wants to have to best Agendabuyers and decision makers at their event and therefore BBT Online proposes to be the middle man!

Organizers, gives us the dates of your upcoming events, we will publish them in our MICE Agenda! But before selecting a date, check with us (a simple mail to – subject agenda inquiry) if nobody else has selected that date for another event.

Five Characters you'll meet at a Business Meeting

MeetingThere’s one at almost every meeting: the annoying guy who claims to be right, the funny guy who isn’t funny at all, or the one always agreeing with the boss. Intercontinental Hotels Group presents the five most recognizable characters at a business meeting:
The Monopolizer thinks he or she is the only one with wisdom on various subjects at the business meeting. The Monopolizer believes everyone else is there to hear him or her speak - and so they do - incessantly. They don't appreciate meetings where everybody get the opportunity to give their opinion.

Relax after work
Keep it healthy!!

Would the day not go faster if you had a good moment of relaxation waiting for you after work? Isabeau Paape opened Relax House in the centre of Brussels where one can go for Tea & Massage, or Apero & Massage and even Dinner & Massage, 3 formulas that guarantee total relaxation and pleasure.

Want also to have a facial or a manicure or just have your hair done, it’s all possible. In the cozy atmosphere of a private apartment, pure zen!

In line with the company’s CSR commitment, the MCI Brussels’ Office in Brussels dedicated a full ‘Employee Health Week’ to a series of activities linked to the well being of its employees. Evidence proves that a healthy body equals a healthy mind and this contributes towards having motivated, energized employees.

This initiative was born out of the desire to introduce new sports, wellbeing ideas, lifestyle suggestions and nutritional advice to employees in order to help them be uplifted during long working hours.
And the BATM winner was …

No, we’re not talking about formal conferences this time, far from it. These are informal meetings with the locals…. Brussels people who want to share their passion for the city with visitors.Brussels Greeters’ is a network of volunteers which started in May 2010 at the initiative of the Tourisme Autrement, a Belgian association promoting all aspects of sustainable tourism. Destination Report: Gelderland & The Veluwe, unknown but not unloved

Gelderland is a part of the Netherlands that doesn’t exactly ring many bells. It’s the country’s biggest province though. It’s also home to three important cities. Arnhem is the modern and trendy capital. Nijmegen is Holland’s oldest city and has a beautiful historic center. Apeldoorn is the greenest of the three and acted as a second home to many members of the Dutch royal family.

Large parts of Gelderland are full of natural beauty. The Veluwe, the biggest national park in Holland, is an important attraction for the region. BBT Online was invited by the Dutch Bureau for Tourism & Conventions ( to discover what is said to be the friendliest, most peaceful and prettiest part of the country.

The 2010 Study of the Motivational Travel Market

The Site International Foundation Board of Trustees and leaders of the Site Germany Chapter released the outcome of the 2010 Study of the German Incentive Motivational Travel Market. The study looked at a diverse sample of industries and returned results from organizers who plan an average of 15 incentive programs a year.

The study was carried out by tmf GmbH in Munich under the direction of Project Chair Dr. Patrick Patridge.  Main findings include:
  • On average, incentive trips last 3.2 days.
  • Incentive trips mostly range from 20 to 99 participants. A quarter of the incentive agencies / corporate planners carry out incentives with 250 and more participants (domestic and outbound).
  • Nearly all incentive planners collaborate with hotels directly, whether a destination is well-known or not. DMCs, specialized domestic agencies (e. g. for teambuilding or outdoor programs) and convention bureaus are commissioned more often if destinations are less- or not well-known to the planner.
  • The average budget for domestic incentive trips is 435 € per participant per day; the main range is from 201 to 600 €. For outbound incentives, the budget is 605 € on average; every fourth incentive travel planner can apply a budget of 800 € and more.
