What does the taxman think of business gifts?
How does the taxman view business gifts? Business gifts are only 50% tax deductable and in theory may not cost more than 125 euro. If the gift costs more, then you have to declare to whom you gave it, so that the recipient can be taxed for his ‘benefit in kind’.

Another important limit is 50 euro, excluding VAT. If the gift costs less than 50 euro, the VAT can be reclaimed in full. Otherwise, the VAT is not reclaimable. More smart tips, from
fiscal rights to civil rights?

A recent article in Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf revealed that British Airways has launched an original teambuilding exercise which seems to be very popular with British companies judging by the 350 bookings already registered!
A Boeing 373 of British Airways is located in a hangar at Heathrow Airport. The plane is mounted on a platform, cost per “one-way trip”:
€ 140!

Once the doors close the ‘trip’ changes quickly into a nightmare: the plane ‘plummets‘ to the ground, the cabin goes dark and smoke appears. Panic sets in when all passengers hurry to the emergency exits.

British Airways comments that this is seriously meant as a teambuilding exercise to promote the ‘group feeling’ amongst colleagues…
crazy Brits!!
