New meeting and event location:
Train World
2 brand new pop-up's
Train World

Train World, the new railway museum in Brussels located in the Schaerbeek train station, is available as a meetings & events location as well.

The setting is quite unique: a fully restored, early 20th century train station and ticket hall with a vaulted ceiling and 550m² of event and conference space.

Right next to Train World is Train Hostel: a unique and great looking place where you can spend the night in authentic sleeper carriages – integrated in the building – that were still on the tracks a couple of years ago.

Probably both the weirdest and coolest hostel in Belgium. Cheap too: you can get a bed starting at €20.
Maarten Van Essche

Top chef Maarten Van Essche opened Les Petits Ruisseaux and is located in the old drydock of an industrial building in Mechelen.

The original atmosphere was kept as much as possible: three massive wooden tables fill up the restaurant. The restaurant offers a seven course seasonal menu every evening. Open till November, 11.

The other pop-up, Little Brewers Winter Garden is located in the factory hall of the De Koninck brewery in Antwerp. The hall has quite a massive capacity, so it can easily handle larger company events.

Specialised in meat, there's a 400 kg BBQ set called “the beast”.

Chyl Chyl

BBT Online's favoriteChyl - open only since the end of August - on the Rue de Bellevue in Brussels (next to Av. Louise), is a new ambitious project focused on changing our daily habits in a soft, but revolutionary way.

Chyl comes with a shop for natural products, a café, restaurant & garden (which can also be privatised for an event) offering seasonal dishes in a cosy atmosphere. There is also a wellness centre where you can get a massage or one of many homemade beauty treatments. Last but not least, several guestrooms will be available in the near future.

Belgian Michelin starred chef Sang-Hoon Degeimbre opened in Brussels
Korean born but Belgian Michellin starred chef Sang-Hoon Degeimbre (L'Air du Temps) moved to Brussels with an intimate concept linked to his roots.

Bowls play a central part in his new restaurant. 'A bowl unifies all ingredients. People use them all around the world, they're universal. The bowl and the spoon that comes with it have another advantage: we can't cheat or create order. Everything enters our mouth at the same time.' San's menu will offer seven bowls: five savoury, two sweet, and will be changed on a monthly basis. SAN opened on 5 October on the Rue de Flandre.

Bistro Mama Kelly – an exiting new place to be

Urban Bistro Mama Kelly is an exciting new restaurant in The Hague (the Netherlands).

The location is great – the venue is housed in an old cigarette factory - and the food is superb. Moreover, as you can see on the pictures, the industrial interior looks fantastic and gives the place a lot of character.

Specialities of the house are: Chicken and Lobster!

New budget hotel concept in Hasselt
Don't date a girl who travels

Different Hotels opened its first YUP venue in Hasselt this September.

YUP is a new “luxury & budget” hotel aimed the so called yuppies (Young Urban Professionals): modern adventurers looking for the comfort, service and style of a boutique hotel for a smaller fee. YUP currently offers 59 rooms but will probably expand with 30 more in the future.

A YUP Cabin is a cleverly designed 12m² room with a bed in the centre: a cocoon from where you can watch a film, check your mail and stay in touch with the world.

Lots of married people would probably not really mind their significant other pack their bags and take off for a while, but none-the-less, here is a great video showcasing all the different reasons why you should definitely not date a girl who travels a lot.

BBT Online's publisher Karin de Graauw is nominated for Ovations 2015 Huggability Award:
a fun and informal excuse to nominate someone who deserves congratulations.

Ovation's Hugo Slimbrouck:
"Karin de Graauw (BBT Online) - Twenty years ago a blond Dutch girl living in Brussels started the first online meetings industry magazine that I can remember. She was a true visionary, one of the early adopters who knew that the time of print would soon be gone and that the world would go digital at a fast pace.

She did this, as she still does many things, on the basis of intuition. And intuition is still part of her success nowadays. All these years Karin has been a true friend and ally – it's time that we put her up for this prestigious international award."

We are sad to inform you that on 21 September, Theo Verbraeken died after fighting a long battle with disease. Theo was one of the real pioneers on the Belgian incentive scene and founded – together with Dirk Mertens and Frans Deboeck – the successful incentive house Meet'Inc in the 80s.

Theo also worked for BBT Online in the past. The BBT Online team would like to express its sincere condolences to Theo's family and friends.

This month our 'something funny' is sadly replaced by 'the worst thing ever'. Something that can happen to all of us. A 15-year old girl was involved in a car accident on the way back from an event. The driver survived. The girl did not.

This song is for you Morgan Willems. What great friends you had, to make such a beautiful song for you! May you rest in peace. Please share this song on your FB page!!!!! For my friend Annemie Dedulle – her mother.
